Western Stevedoring strengthens its capacity

news2Western Stevedoring started construction of the new specialized liquid cargo terminal with planned cargo turnover up to 200 thousand tons per year. While planning berth efficiency special attention was drawn to the handling capacity of the terminal, thus a vessel shipment of 5000 tons is planned to be processed in less than 24 hours.
Specialized terminal with two reservoirs is designed for various liquid cargoes and includes steam boiler for cargo heating and railway trestle for cargo handling from/to rail cisterns.

Terminal start-up test is scheduled in late September, 2012 and within a month terminal will be launched in full mode.
Timely start of the terminal is awaited by foreign company, which has signed a long term contract with Western Stevedoring. The new terminal will ensure company’s expansion and increase of cargo flow in the Baltic region.

During January – May, 2012 Western Stevedoring increased cargo volumes by 52% comparing to the same period in 2011. Handling of more than 1 million tons is foreseen in 2012.
